Yes but we only accept URLs and do not provide an image upload function. You can simply pass the URL into the Meme Search field inside the Upload modal and it should display your template. If many people use the same template we will add it to the standard library.
To upload a Meme with a Gfycat GIF, open the Upload window (Menu -> Create) and search for "Gfycat" -> click on "Gfycat extern GIF".
You now have the option to enter a direct video link. This link must have a ".mp4" at the end, to get the direct video link, go to a Gfycat and right click -> copy video url.
You can also search for GIFs which already have been used by other users.
When reusing GIFs the chances of a Meme being published to the public increases dramatically, but of course we also accept new GIFs.
We like to reuse GIFs because our users won't have to download the source again which is basically the entire point of this website...
We added that little blue checkmark for Tweets, so it looks more like the original tweet. This can come in handy when you want to make a Meme about a tweet from a famous person. Please don't fake Tweets, a script will check legitimacy of every "verified" Tweet either way before we can publish them. If the script can't find the referenced tweet -> post is deleted.
If you use an existing account name -> Yes. Don't put words in peoples mouth they never said. If you just want to make a statement like "I go to the fridge at 3 am to eat a single slice of cheese" and you can't find the original author, or you took it from another (non Twitter) post whatever -> don't add an account name/twitter handle.
You can add small memes (without extra text) to the message by adding the name of the meme into the textfield wrapped by [*...*]. Example: 'Haha I just stood there and was like [*Persian Cat*]'. Check the Wikimemeia tab in the searchbar to see available Memes. GIFs are NOT supported
Not at all. Like 0%. Just like with the screenshots of conversations our chats can very easily be faked. Don't believe anything what is written there. Most of the time it's more about the joke itself so take it with a grain of salt.
Most websites don't allow to change or alter their content at all so we can not allow this. If you post an image from reddit for example, it needs to be in its original form. Of course, you can add your custom title but that's about it. Any further changes would break the rules of third party sites.
We are constantly on the lookout for new partners with interesting content but sadly most websites
either prohibit sharing content or the way content is shared goes against our rules.
A lot of post sharing options do not have a responsive layout meaning you can't view
these posts on a phone, or they are cut of in half.
Some media players are so carelessly written you can't even see the video or the video just autoplays +
you can't stop
it. A lot of videos players start making video sounds even the video is not in the view of the user.
This can also happen with multiple videos at the same time which made us stop accepting videos and gifs
from Reddit and Imgur.
Even videos without sound are unusable because they loop forever and once displayed they will eat
up users memory and CPU.
Gfycat and TikTok are the only reliable sources created by programmers with efficiency and
usability in mind. If you have other websites where you think it could benefit our platform you
are more than welcome to send us a link to info@gramstash.com
We use multiple tools to check if a post is already in our collection.
If any of these tools finds a similar post your submission will be flagged as "not fresh".
This does not mean that your post will be removed/deleted this just means we found something similar.
We will check the similar posts and see if there is actual similarity or if it's new content.
For example any post that uses the famous template "I don't remember asking you a god-damn thing" will return multiple
"reposts" since this line is used in all posts with that templates and a Trigram text search will find them.
In these cases nothing will be removed and your post will be published.
As you probably already figured a lot of posts have black humor but please understand that there is a red line.
We won't tolerate excessive racists, sexist or homophobic posts on Gramstash.
Be original. Don't just take a random post from another site and try to publish it here.
If your post can be found on Google -> Stop it.
Make sure to use the right format.
If use a GIF from Gfycat use one which already has been used before, templates which can be reused (users won't have to download them again)
are preferred over one hit GIFs.
